What is a best before date?

According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, durable life means “the anticipated amount of time that an unopened food product, when stored under appropriate conditions, is expected to remain freshness, taste, nutritional value or any other quality stated by the manufacturer.” This date can be found on the packaging under the words “best before” or meilleur avant”.
This date informs consumers that unopened products will be good quality until that specified date. The main thing for this day is that it depends on the product that is prepared and stored properly, depending on the requirements of the food product. This means that failure to follow the handling and safety guidelines for a particular product will affect its quality and expiration date. This also means that the best before date will not apply if the package is opened.
The best before date does not guarantee that the food product can be safely prepared and served to consumers. What is the packing date?
