Once reserved for specialty stores, oat milk is now available in stores. It is full of health benefits! But before Oatly, Califia and Willa, oat milk was mostly a homemade product – a quick and cheap non-dairy substitute for milk at home around the world. And making oat milk from scratch is super easy, quick, and easy to prepare. Ingredients:

  •  1 cup oatmeal
  •  3 cups of water
  •  A pinch of salt (optional)

 Method:

  •  Put everything in a blender. Add flavor, if desired. Mix on high for 30 seconds or until oats are completely incorporated.
  • Place a cheesecloth or strainer lined with coffee filter paper over a bowl large enough to hold the oat milk. Place the oat milk mixture in a large bowl.
  •  Transfer the oat milk to a jar and refrigerate for up to five days. If the milk starts to separate, tap it before opening the jar.
